You're right.
This was worth the read. What an interesting article. It is refreshing to read about women standing up for deserved options and alternatives when it comes to birth. I also LOVED the quote from an OB calling the electronic fetal heart monitor an embarrassment in medicine!
The only part of the article I really took issue with was the attitude that women only elect for home birth as a dangerous last resort. Take for instence this quote,
"A quiet storm of discontent has brewed into a mommy uprising that has lots of pregnant women seeking alternative, often high-risk approaches to childbirth. They’re hiring hands-on midwives, and passing on the hospital to give birth at home."
In this sentence she calls homebirth a high-risk alternative, even though she's already sited the fact that large studies have been done indicating that homebirths are reliably as safe as hospital births for healthy moms with normal pregnancies.
Is this the journalists ploy to add some drama to here article? DESPERATE MOMS PUSHED TO DESPERATE MEASURES...
In any event, It was great to read about women uniting to protect their reproductive rights! Yea for the Bostonians. And thanks for the read.
